Yom Kippur 5779

Getting Lost to Find Your Way

I delivered this sermon on Yom Kippur this past year.  Through stories of hiking, working in the hospital and being lost, I demonstrate that life's greatest task is making meaning out of our circumstances.

4th Year Sermon

Why Be Jewish?

In my 4th year sermon I ask the controversial question of why be Jewish?  Using the wisdom I gained from my nonprofit management degree, I apply the concept of a value proposition to our Jewish world.

A Series of Text Studies on The Other

What do the books of Ezra Nehemia say about relating to the Other?

The books of Ezra and Nehemia detail the return of the Jews to the land of Israel after the first Temple is destroyed.  The books provide much wisdom for today as they describe how to build a society and how to relate to people unlike us in society.  For my final project, a classmate and I created a series of text studies illuminating different ways "The Other" is treated in these books.
